HID lights require the ballast to be "charged" before they turn on (kinda like a flourescent light- yanno how they "flicker" for a second?); therefore, manufacturers usually use them only in low beams.
otherwise, the ability to flash your highs quickly (which in europe is a signal for a slower driver in front of you to move to the right) would be lost. white.rabbit 1987 vw gti 2.0-16v (for sale soon) 1985 toyota mr2 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark Reda" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, October 09, 2001 10:54 AM Subject: Re: H6054 HID lights > A guy I know has converted to HID on his 98 BMW 328 but only the outers are > converted to HID. > It looks kinda cheezy when the highs are on. _____________ List Sponsor: http://www.netsville.com To remove yourself from this list, send mail to [email protected] with 'unsubscribe a2_16v' in the body of your message See us on the web at http://www.a2-16v.com Visit the 16V Homepage at http://www.gti16v.org
