Ive got a friend who works ans an EE at Sylvania.
At one time he converted his Integra over...
Maybe I oughta ask him...

Anyway...

Ive been TOLD (but cant confirm) that one of the
issues is how HID bulbs "work".

If you have seperate Hi/lo beams (aka the 16v dual
setup) it sorta will work. But it WONT work if you
have the cheezy 6054 sealed dual beam configuration.
Id guess that the HID bulb does not have the "shield"
that the H4 bulb does for the low side.

What I have been told is that HID lens require a very
different "heat" factor and that the "depth" that the
filiment sits in is VERY critical to proper focusing
of the light.

That means that inserting HID filaments from another
car might "look" like HID, but wont *work* like HID.

Also as hinted at before - HID filaments inserted into
a H4 lens will only have a high beam - (or only a low
beam) and not both. It looks like the Sylvania system
inserts a H3 bulb for the high beam side...

That being said - the Sylvania advantage is that it
appears to be be DOT legal - or at least "Headlight
Upgrade Systems comply with Federal Motor Vehicle
Safety Standard (FMVSS) 108 and Society of Automotive
Engineers (SAE) Specification J2009 for Discharge
Forward Lighting Systems" - whatever that means.

Then again - thats a lotta moolah for lights...
