Patrick is right, they have exceptional build quality. I have a couple VW
friends and know of at least one Porsche guy that have Hondas as their daily
drivers. They forget where their mechanics are b/c they never have to go to
them.
Leaves more time and $$ for the toys when u don't have to spend it on the
DD.

Hondas are just plain better built than any other car. They aren't as much
fun. They don't look as good. They're boring. However, they don't break,
which is kind of a bonus if you want your car to, uh, run. A slow honda is
faster than a faster VW waiting in the shop because the auto transmission
failed at 4200 miles.
FWIW, I recently had to take a 2001 civic LX in for service due to a
mysterious amount of black smoke being belched from it. Turns out some
dumbass had filled it with 9 gallons of diesel. It was still running,
slowly, 90 miles later. No permanent damage. Even the emissions stuff was
OK. Noone's going to convice me that isn't an amazingly well built car.
