I guess I should have mentioned that this is in prep to flush/change the
brake fluid in the system.

Subject: [ncvw] Brake fluid reservoir strainer removal

Hey all,

It has been recommended to me by a mechanic buddy to remove the strainer ( I
think the Bentley mentions this as well) from the brake fluid reservoir and
use a syringe to remove as much as possible the old fluid...I have tried to
remove the strainer...no luck.

Are there any hints/tricks that people know to remove this thing, or is it
not really necessary?

Also, there seems to be a sensor of some sort since there are the two wires
coming out of the reservoir cap...I assume it senses your brake fluid
level...but if it detects low...how does it tell you? Blink a dashboard
light? Buzzer? Fault code?

Thanks,
