Extremely unlikely.  The sad truth is that the
catalytic convertors nowadays are very efficient,
unlike the ones back in the early '80's.

The motor in question here was tuned within a whisker
of streetability.  It was a G60 motor with a ported
head, match ported intake and exhaust manifolds,
balanced and blueprinted, big front mounted
intercooler, yada, yada, yada.  It consistently put
out 180hp and 185 ft lbs of torque, regardless of the
dyno, weather etc.

Believe me, the cat isn't costing you anything.
