Where are the OLD archives?
I just put Bilstien HD and H&R sport springs on my car and it only lowered
about 1" if that. The front a-arms are exactly level with the ground now.
Also put in new strut bushings and ball joints. Got alignment set at -1.5 deg
and .1 deg toe out. Compared to my old stock wore out suspension the car now
handles like a go-cart, very tight and precise. We will see how good it is at
the next auto-x.
I also have a Jetta that has been "lowered" about 2.0" in the worst way by
cutting springs (my kid and his buds did this). Has blown out Boges in it and
it handles like a bag of ass. It looks really cool though - i.e. "poser".
Like others said if you go too low you sacrafice handling.
