Besides the stock bbs I don't think I've found wheels I really think look good on it. I've looked through quite a few pics, but just haven't found anything I really want to get. I did see a black 92 16v gti for sale on vwvortex that had some really sweet looking wheels. The name had "cup" in it, but I don't recall the complete name. They were a 5 spoke design. That must have been the cleanest looking gti I've ever seen. Too bad I can't find the link.
