The original Quantum IS an Audi 4000 with different badges or vise versa.
This car was called "Santana" in Europe. All of them were made in Germany
I
think. The 5cyl engine in the GL5 version is a work of art and lasts
forever. Later iterations of this car added the syncro drivetrain. The
engine is upgradeable with a factory Audi 4000S Quattro turbo installation
for gobs of horsepower, some people have done this. Little too expensive
to
do for my taste.

A properly restored and/or modified Syncro Quantum is extremely rare.

I thought the quantum was based on the Audi 4000, not the 5000??
Anyway, the Passat is a much roomier car than the Jetta is...I've
always liked it.
