If you're still burning a quart of oil every tank,
then you either need:

A head rebuild
The block reringed

The fact that the car passed emmissions doesn't mean
lot.

My 16v burns no oil and runs so cleanly it hardly
registered on the emmissions test.  I have all the
hoses hooked up the way they came from the factory.
