friday night I was giving a friend a ride home and as i was shifting from 2nd
to 3rd i hear a '!!POP!!' and.. well.. no more clutch. i lift my foot up and
the clutch pedal didnt come back. Im thinking "great, i hope the pedal rack
didnt just give." i power shifted the car to the nearest gas station and popped
the hood only to find that the problem was not with the pedal but with the
clutch cable so I left the car and got a ride home.

The next morning, i got a truck and a tow strap and got the car home, I was in
sortof a pinch because I had a few places that I needed to get to that day, so
i ran over to the nearest napa and bought a replacement clutch cable. The only
one they had there was a cheap one made by Beck Arnley. Ever heared of that
brand? anyway, not much to say about it.. pretty cheap manuf. after inspecting
the part.. i dont think it'll last the year.. but considering i was in a rush,
$29 wasnt a bad price to get me rolling again.

After getting the old cable out, I found that it had snapped directly in the
middle. Looks like the metal-bound tube that the cable runs though had rusted
out on the inside and had been rubbing away at the cale for some time. I was
sure to thoughally grease the new one.

What do you guys think of Beck Arnley? is it going to get me by? or should i be
looking to buy a bosh cable asap? Let me know.

Thanks
