Coupe GT is a great car. Audi NA 5-cyl, CIS-E fuel injection. If anything, it's easier to work on than an 8v VW because of the logitudinal engine placement. Engine and transmission will last forever (if its a manual...autoboxes weren't as reliable). There's really nothing new in it if you've had a few VWs.
Parts are very easy to come by on the used market...and used Audi parts are every bit as cheap as used VW parts. www.force5auto.com is the best source for used parts. www.audiquattroparts.com and www.gprparts.com are good sources for newer parts, as is carlsens. Good online resources: www.audifans.com is the quattro list. That's the only online resource you'll need. I'd say that if the car runs well, doesn't belch smoke and doesn't have a bunch of really obviously bad things, $500 is a pretty good deal. The coupe GT is a funky looking beast. :) On 21 Oct 2002 at 8:31, Trickey, Phillip wrote: > I apologize for the OT question and crossposting.... > > I have the chance to pickup a running 87 Audi GT Coupe for ~$500.
