Greg,

if a/c is working and leakfree, I'd keep it. Great for summer and winter!!!
Just backdate to early bracket and you should be good to go. My car
only had a few track weekends on the early bracket but Matt can tell
you if he's had any problem w/ his ITA GTI. Raffi @ Eurosport
told me the same thing and he concurred w/ Alex about the "weak"
2.0 16v brackets.

I have a spare early bracket you can have unfor it's missing the smaller
upper part. It's HEAVY so it's prob not worth the cost of shipping.
Better to find a local parts car or go to junk yard...

Lastly, had the car smogged this morning to transfer title. Put cat back
in and it passed well under the allowed limits and mostly under the average too.
Gonna miss it...

Subject: Re: [a2-16v-list] Alternator Woes - answers
Thank goodness I'm not going crazy!! I didn't think I could be the only one
with these kind of problems. I have seriously considered removing the A/C
and this may be a good time to do it. Now the million dollar question: which
way to do the A/C removal.
1. Relocate the alternator to the A/C mount
2. Shim pulley and leave in stock position
3. Try to score the non A/C bracket and/or mod the stock bracket
Feedback???
P.S.
When active this list kicks ass! Posted the same thing on Vortex and got
nada (I guess I don't have enough posts to be recognized or I've been
secretly blacklisted for pissing off one of the moderators). Anyway thanks
for listening and for Son, I still have a cool pic you posted a long time
ago of your ride on 3 wheels. Try that in your Miata. Keep in touch (you
WILL be back someday).
