I made a decision on what clutch to get. I ordered an ACT pressure plate which I'll use with a stock disc. That seems to be a popular setup.
Next week I'm taking my 2.0L block out of my '91 16V and replacing it with... another 2.0L block. It has 200,000 miles on it of hard driving, but still has 180 compression in all cylinders and makes no funny noises. The car runs strong. Why then would I go through the trouble of swapping it with the exact same thing? About 18 months ago, something hit my power steering pump (probably on the fwy) and BROKE OFF the lip that it attaches to on the engine. A chunk of the engine block snapped off. So, my power steering pump has been holding on without the two bolts that go through the aluminum bracket. This has caused other brackets to break due to the stress, on multiple occasions. Yes, I like my power steering and more responsive rack ratio. I do not want a manual rack. Luckily, my friend has a spare 9A block that was recently rebuilt by someone who knows what they're doing.
