Anyone know what the ratios on the PS vs. non-PS racks are? I pretty much only use this car as a backup, possibly also for autocrossing, and I'd like to keep it as simple as possible. Fewer PS lines would be lovely. I autocrossed my old 8v non-ps scriocco a couple of times and never felt the steering ratio was all that bad, but is the non-ps car going to be slower through an autocross? I've never swapped a steering rack, either. Can you do it without removing a bunch of major car bits?
I've got a busted PS resevoir on my '88 8v GTI. Does anyone have one
sitting around anywhere that they'd sell me? I'm current going through
about...oh....well half a quart on my 5 mile drive to work and another
half on the way home. Heh.
