I bought a complete headliner from a guy on Vortex. It is in real good shape. He gave everything but the plugs and the crank. (that sounds perverted) One back corner the fabric had come loose. I just used some spray adhesive. I didn't want to mess with re-gluing one so I found this one and at $85 did break the bank. Also my original headliner backer looked like the PO did a dance on it and was beyond repair. Next week I plan to head to the dealer and will let you know if the plugs are still available. I would rather spend a few bucks then try to find some in the crappy parts yards around central NY.
I could use some tips on how to do this in a Jetta. It does not have the great big hatch to work through. Thanks for all the help, Jesse Denis Palmans wrote: > > Did you reglue the fabric to the headliner? > > I'm guessing the dealer should have these plugs, but they're probably a > couple bucks each or something. > Let me know if you find the plugs at the dealer, and if so how much they > are. > > -Denis > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Jesse T Walz" <[email protected]> > To: "a2list" <[email protected]> > Sent: Friday, March 14, 2003 4:38 AM > Subject: Re: [a2-16v-list] Black Headliner > > > > > When I was removing my old headliner 2 out of the four gray plugs > > broke.
