There's usually an adjustment of the top (hood) half of the latch by
loosening two small (9 or 10 mm head) bolts. If it's well centered, notice
that there is a jamb nut on the stem of the latch, and a slot at the end
(typically), permitting some vertical adjustment of the male half. I
normally leave these items just slightly loose and try watching the
centering first, then progressively engage it further, checking as I go,
after replacement or modification. Rubber bumpers align edges of hood with
fenders only after I have good latching action.
