So I'm finally getting around to working on my a/c system, which at the moment only blows warm air.
Is there a test to know if the compressor is operating correctly? I didn't see anything in the Bentley. When I turn the a/c on, the idle jumps from 1200rpm to 2000 and stays there, and there is an audible clicking noise from the compressor. Doesn't seem good. :/ Also, I hooked a pressure gauge to the lowside port (by the firewall/evaporator) and it reads 45psi. Laters, Brian -- 1989 GLI Wolfsburg Ed.
