I've been real good to my Gli with plenty of Mobil 1 and VW Oil Filters since I got the car in 1998. I recall losing about a quart (no external leaks) every thousand miles or so. I recently had the rings replaced in one cylinder and a rebuilt head. I'm now losing a quart of oil more frequently. The engine/car has 167K miles on it and intend to take it to 200K. Based on the frequent loss and cost of a case of Mobil 1, would you folks still justify pouring a quart of Mobil 1 in every two weeks? I was tinkering with the idea of going to a cheaper synthetic blend. I'm glad I do not have this issue with the Corrado and the Redline Oil :)
