If you are not careful it will. The back of the battery tray also
scratches up the battery. A better solution is definitely needed.

How did they mount the optima? I was curious because my fear is the
stock mounting bracket will cut into the side of the rounded Optima
cells.

I have an optima red top and it fits fine but is not held down firmly by
the stock bracket. New Dimensions used to have a custom A2 bracket for
the optima battery but this was long ago. Apparently it is not too
difficult to fabricate if you are inclined to fabrication.

What other size batteries will fit our cars? Our size is Group 41, and
I have searched around and found that the mid-90's 3 series BMW guys are
using Group 48's in place of the original Group 41.

Has anyone bought a battery recently, and have any insight? I am
tempted to get a battery from a place like PepBoys or Autozone (full 2
yr warranty, 84 mth prorated), for only $50 or $60.

Thanks in advance,
