Hey 16Vers,

I happen to just walk in from replacing my distributor. My 16V has
been out of commission for a while and won't start and I have been
trying different things in my spare time. So far I have replaced the
ignition coil (with a used one) and the distributor (with a new one). I
now suspect a fuel problem. The main fuel line to the fuel distributor
sprays fuel when cranking but when I loosen the bolts to the injector
lines - nothing comes out. I wonder if the fuel distributor is bad.

Anyone have any tips on testing fuel delivery and how to troubleshoot
it? I looked through the Bentley but I didn't see any fuel
troubleshooting tips in there.

thanks all. glad to see some life in this list.

Subject: [a2-16v-list] 16v Distributor oil leak

Hello all,
I had to replace my distributor on the Jetta a while ago(hall
sender went kaput). The old one leaked oil, and I thought once the new
one was in, that would take care of it. It sure didn't...still leaks!
How do I fix that leak? What will I need for parts? I didn't want to
tear into it until I know I've got everything, so I can do it all at
once & get it done.Thanks!
