ONE MORE QUESTION.... I've pulled two used clutches now that have had the thrust plate worn off-center... meaning that the push rod wasn't making contact with the center of the thrust plate. How does that happen and is there a way to make sure it never happens?
I got my seals from Mike Potter today. It was interesting to see a different tool included than the other one I received. Maybe that's why I couldn't figure out how the other tool was used. When it didn't look like the mail would show up in time, I called the dealer to see if they were in stock. I figured, how expensive could a $15 seal be at a dealer... $30? Whatever, I'll pay it. Well, it turns out the dealer wants 85 freakin' American dollars for that thing. WTF? The seals I got from Potter weren't Brazilian either. They were German Meistersatz brand seals. I feel better already. Those Germans even date the seal so you know how long it's been sitting. So the transaxle goes back in this weekend along with the new trans mount and rear engine mount, and all the new seals and bushings that go along with the package... Thanks to fellow listers for all the advice.
