That's absolutely hilarious!! I've made a conscious effort to steer away from
VW Vortex - at least from the Model Specific forums. I "use" them to promote
the SCCA PDX events for the Washington DC Region SCCA and some of those folks
are more than just Fanbois. However, there's no compelling reason to attempt
to
share knowledge with a group of people (VW Vortex as a whole) who already know
everything.

With regards to the A2 16v - they're becoming more scarce. Mostly due to the
age of the vehicles but also because in stock trim, they're extremely finicky
(at least the CIS-E cars). As a result, the latest craze are the more simple
to
install and tune ABA or VR6 motors. Furthermore, the A2 cars have become
"Shabby Chic" for whatever reason which has seen the cars becoming increasingly
more desirable to turn into Fanboi cars (read: Homegrown and Pep Boys mods that
result in junk). While the current value of the cars is up b/c of the
interest,
ultimately, given the type of interest, the cars are ending up as junk since no
one wants to fix 6 months worth of mods from a 16 yr old's "fury".
