Les, Matthew could get a blog on a list website for his thoughts to be shared widely. Others could get just templated profiles of their efforts and cars. I think the email-centric nature is what is key to preserve. I never got Vortex and never became an active member. I simply did not have the desire to keep going back to check threads and the volume was so much that it really requires a new generation of internet user than I wanted to be. I actually think it will all come full circle and something like email will be the dominant way that people participate in forums in time.
Sorry, just more thinking outloud. -Larry -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Les Noriel Sent: Monday, July 12, 2010 1:05 PM To: Matthew Yip; [email protected] Subject: Re: [a2-16v-list] Fw: a2-16v list back online I don't know about anyone else on the list, But I really enjoyed reading Matthew's racing journal he did a few years back and would enjoy seeing him do it again. I would be willing to support the list with an annual contribution simply for the knowlegebase I've acquired over the years from past discussions. As parts begin to become more scare, this list becomes one of the last remaining sources for accurate and relevant information and resources. It also keeps me motivated to hear others are still making progress to keep these cars alive and roadworthy. -Les -----Original Message----- >From: Matthew Yip <[email protected]> >Sent: Jul 12, 2010 9:31 AM >To: [email protected] >Subject: Re: [a2-16v-list] Fw: a2-16v list back online > >----- Original Message ---- > >> From: Les Noriel <[email protected]> >> To: Matthew Yip <[email protected]>; [email protected] >> Sent: Mon, July 12, 2010 10:51:33 AM >> Subject: Re: [a2-16v-list] Fw: a2-16v list back online >> >> My experiences there have been similar.
