The 9a is the 16v trans, 4k the rabbit Fri trans with 3.94 final drive. Not sure what the mk3 trans code is, but it's the same as the 16v trans but with a .80 5th gear vs .94 for the 16v trans

I want a tall final drive because in LA, most miles are spent on the freeway. I'm now at the point where I'm running through salvage yards looking for parts and the transmission is next. The answer I received was one for which I had forgotten the details. Was it the "CHE" code transmission from the 2.0l MKIII? With this transmission, can I still use the 16V flywheel and clutch? Or do I have to get different clutch? 210mm? If the 16V list expertise can "refresh" my aging memory--it would be greatly appreciated!
