Ha!  Les Bidrawn of European Car once wrote about the rawness of the VW 16v
platform compared to newer automobiles.
bTW, I do also own a G60 and a 1.8T powered Automobile.  So I'm not
advocating the elimination of forced induction.

There is something rewarding in the simplicity of these automobiles that
rewards the driver mechanic in a way that the modern car community seems to
have forgotten.
