Some more info on gasoline and a Vette owner's (who is a chemist) view on Gasoline.
Can't find any evidence of whether brand specific additives are added at the stations themselves but I doubt it. So it seems many stations get the same gas regardless of brand. This 'Top Tier' rating might have something to do with it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_Tier_Detergent_Gasoline http://vettenet.org/octane.html Will continue to look for any hard science on ethanol free when it comes to our 'older' engines. - Larry 91 GTI 16V In a word, yes. ~Holland On Jan 8, 2015 11:01 AM, "Larry Velez" <[email protected]> wrote: > So does this mean I should be looking around for a source of > 'Ethanol-free' gasoline for my 91 GTI 16V? > > I am still dealing with the bad side effects of gas going bad from > sitting.
