16v content: Also I took apart my 16v transmission with 225k miles (I don't know if it was ever refreshed with new seals/bearings). Found that one of the diff bearings and the small pinion bearing on the output shaft were about to fall apart and destroy the transmission.

It was about to let the rollers out and destroy itself along with the rest of the transmission I bet.
