As I recall, there should be two copper washers that go on each side of the banjo fitting, one between the fitting and the pump, the other between the head of the bolt and the fitting. Always use new copper washers, and be careful to not over tighten the bolt. You just want to slightly compress the copper washers in order to provide a good seal.
