Hi Mike, thanks, commited with r3742. I am not sure about the reporting of the URLs. I think some log messages would be very missleading when only the original id is reported. Some users extract the log warning messages and publish them as a kind of todo list, so I think we should make sure that the log messages contain a hint that the reported object is a result of a split or clipping or something else which modifies the geometry.
I did not look at the code, maybe this is already done.
