Congratulations Matt. I know how much you two have longed for this to
come about and what a wonderful time of the year for it to happen. I
will certainly be keeping all of you in my prayers.

My wife got the call today a little after noon. We have been placed for
adoption! Four years of waiting and suddenly, BAM!
The little girl who is going to be our daughter was born Dec 28th, and
we should be picking her up sometime next week. The next few days will
be a mad scramble to buy all of the things we're going to need (car
seats, changing table, crib, diapers, clothes, bottles, formula,
etc...). My wife and I will also be having a big talk tonight once she
gets home to decide what we're going to do going forward with everything.
One thing this does mean is that my participation in the fandom is going
to take a big back seat for a while. I'll try to come online to chat on
the weekends, and I do hope to still attend Furnal Equinox and
Anthrocon, but as of now my attendance at either is provisional. Also,
my writing is going to be downgraded in priority, but I also hope to
keep it up.
Keep my family in your prayers. We're going to need it as we enter this
amazing new chapter in our lives.
