Su_Blanc's description is quite accurate.

If you have a Korean/Japanese/Chinese fonts, you can search files with
respective name correctly.

Well, if you copy text in EUC-KR, and paste it on a UTF-8 text field, it may
make the text corrupted. is the screenshot for that case?

If you search in EUC-KR, it can show more result than you do in UTF-8, also.
However, from 2.5.30, UTF-8 also seems to return good result.
