Thanks for the quick reply, OK, further investigation... 'melt noise' works so I obviously have the SDL module, Openshot did not work when I tried the new MLT on a project I had been working on, however starting a new project from scratch following a reboot it seems OK. Kdenlive will work if the user has already run the initial setup wizard, the instance where Kdenlive threw the SDL Module error was on a fresh install of AV Linux where Kdenlive had not been launched yet and run the config wizard so the SDL query issue seems isolated to a first run scenario, hopefully as you said this will be fixed in the next release of Kdenlive. A huge thanks to you for all of the great JACK Audio goodies that have found their way into MLT.
