I am not certain I am seeing the problem you are seeing. It seems they
play the same for me in Quicktime Player, ffplay, and melt built with
FFmpeg. I have not tested it with libav. If there is a problem, it
must be a very subtle like only occasionally a dropped frame. I assume
siince you wrote "strange" that the problem you see is more gross than
subtle.

Even the prores.mov looks mostly the same between all 3 said players.
Before I give this any more attention, you need to do a more
compelling job of convincing me there is a problem. For example, you
said the prores transcode exhibits the problem as well, but you have
not said how you transcoded it or what all media players you played it
in to narrow it down to a melt-specific problem. Perhaps another thing
to do is test playback in one of my binary builds of Shotcut.
