BTW, I recently made a commit for this issue, but I have only tested it in
the Shotcut use case you provided. It will be nice to get more feedback on
other test cases when you get a chance.
Hi,
Yes, I was very happy when I saw that commit.
I will make tests tomorrow on several computers and will report.

Movit-based transitions are working for me in Shotcut 17.06 on both Windows
and macOS tested this morning. I have not tested your command line because
I did not have convenient access to a Linux workstation at the time;
however, I see you did not specify -mixer and instead use -track and
-transition. What I do know that does not work is XML virtual clips -
loading a Movit-based XML as a virtual clip in another Movit-based
composition.
I can crash Shotcut 17.06 on linux with a simple project:
* Activate GPU based movit
*Create 2 video tracks
*put 2 clips on V1
*overlap the 2 clips to create a transition between the 2 clips
*put a clip over that transition in V2
*move timeline cursor on the transition -> CRASH
Picture of the project timeline attached. Let me know if you need more
infos but on my side it is very easily reproducible.
OK, I reproduced that. However, I am not sure if it will be fixed. I am
not spending much time on these projects any more. I will try to be
motivated to at least take a look into this in the next couple of weeks.
Best regards

Hi all,
Trying to work a bit with movit, I noticed it does crash when
encountering a tractor embedded in another one. This can easily be
reproduced in Shotcut, or in MLT with following command (it will crash
on frame 50 when the reaching the first frame of the mix tractor:
melt color:red out=200 color:blue -mix 150 -track color:green
-transition movit.mix mix=0.5 -consumer xgl glsl.=1
Crash output is :
melt: filter_movit_convert.cpp:204: void build_fingerprint(mlt_service,
mlt_frame, std::__cxx11::string*): Assertion `effect' failed.
Is this a known limitation of the movit/mlt integration (does not
support embedded tractors) or is there hope that this issue can be
solved ? We are planning to use embedded tractors in Kdenlive to allow
mixing in the same way as Shotcut, so I wonder if it means we can forget
movit...
Thanks & regards
Jean-Baptiste
