After you log in at the console, try typing "startx" and see if it loads up the graphical user interface. If it does, at least the graphics is ok. In that case, you can make it start up automatically in graphical mode by logging in as root, editing the file /etc/inittab and setting the line which says "id:3:initdefault:" into "id:5:initdefault:". If the graphics is not configured you can run (as root) drakconf from the command line to set up the display.
