Instructions to unsubscribe from this list at the end of the message - --------------------------------------------------------------------- At beginning I suggest you need some friendliness but not too much like Mandrake or Redhat 8+ gives you (IE: I DO NOT SUGGEST MANDRAKE OR REDHAT 8.0+). Things being more GUI Friendly the server side is coming less stable in my opinion (At least with redhat).
After a month or so destroying the machine with experiments .. format it and install FreeBSD whatever. At least that`s the way I like to work... btw Everyone knows what ms and and nix* are and the differences between ms, linux and unix. Regards, AiR. Why?... Real *nix is much different from m$. For real understanding of how *nix work, I suggest trying Slackware Linux. It has interesting manual, and have almost no make-up as RedHat does. So you fully controll and customize it. All dependences are going up to you. So you will learn how system boots, what services do. Just play with them ;) www.slackware.com ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~`O~O`~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ \ GREGORY SMIRNOV .....
