Instructions to unsubscribe from this list at the end of the message - --------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello List,
I've recently formatted my PC and installed RedHat Linux 9.0 and WinXP. After having installed my nVIDIA graphics card (GeForce 2 MX) drivers for Windowz (download, click and play!) I decided, for the first time, to install them on Linux too. I downloaded the Linux drivers from the nVIDIA website, and stopped X to start the installation. When the installation begins, it tells me that the "Pre-Compiled Driver package" for my kernel was not found and that it has to create one during installation. After I click "ok" it complains that it didn't find the Kernel Headers which are part of the 'kernel-source' package. I used RedHat's Add/Remove Applications tool to install the kernel-source package, but it complained that it didn't find the 'KRB5-Libs' and 'openSSL' packages. I downloaded the versions it asked me for, but both said that a newer version was already on my system when I tried installing them. I figured that maybe the kernel-source package on my HDD is old since it's asking for old versions of programs, so I downloaded the kernel-source package for my kernel (2.4.20-18.9). When I try to install the kernel-source package it complains "Public Key not found" or something like that. I'm stumped and a little frustrated this only took 1 minute in Windowz. Can you please help me? Keith - --------------------------------------------------------------------- You received this message because you are subscribed to the linux mailing list.
