Just saw this also today. As I understand, this goes someway towards RH's view that there is no money to be made at the moment in dekstop type users and plenty to be made from corporate users. Therefore, their products (like SuSE) are now being targetted towards the business sector. Go for a distro such as Debian or Gentoo. Regs. Iain. Keith Vassallo writes:
Hi list,
I recently went to download the new RedHat Linux - and I'm quite confused.
There now seem to be three Linux's one can have? One of them is of course
RedHat Enterprise Linux. Then there's RedHat Linux and now there's something
called Fedora (http://fedora.redhat.com)
Could someone please explain what they are trying to do with fedora? Does
this mean that, instead of waiting for RedHat Linux 10, I now have to
download Fedora Core 1? Or is Fedora a completely different thing? This is
confusing, please enlighten me... Thank you,
