Keith

I am using a KVM switch (4-port) which works fine (switching between 2 linux
boxes and 1 window$ box)

Make sure it is one with an electronic switch because the old manual switch
type will likely destroy keyboard / serial buffers when it switches on/off
the +5v line - giving you a useless mainboard.

This is from painful experience, by the way.

I sorted it out with about Lm35 , including all cables.

Subject: [LINUX.ORG.MT] KVM Switches and GNU/Linux

Hey Guys,

Seems like I'm the only one who ever asks questions here... Is it me who's
an idiot or you who are geniuses? lol...

Anyway, I'd like to buy a 2-way KVM switch. I've heard that there are two
types, those which fool the PC not using KVM that it is using KVM and those
who simply disconnect KVM from one PC and activate another.
Could anyone please tell me the proper names for them?

Will the second type work on GNU/Linux? Disconnecting my keyboard and
connecting it back again doesn't work, so it think it may cause problems.

Thanks,
