Depends on your experience with Linux. If you understand the basics of how Linux works then you should not have too much difficulty installing it. That's the biggest hurdle. Gentoo describes itself as "a special flavor of Linux that can be automatically optimized and customized for just about any application or need. Extreme performance, configurability and a top-notch user and developer community are all hallmarks of the Gentoo experience." It is IMO the only distro to use if you want that degree of control over your machine. The user support is excellent, package management first class. I rate it 10/10. :0) Regs. Iain.
