Nice. I also agree with the Ubuntu idea. Imho, it is more usable than the rest.
Also, it should have the right drivers especially for Wifi and stuff. The one thing which people might not like. If the person doesn't know how to use it, where will he go? To the shop? What if no one uses Linux there and can't help him? Cool because you use Linux? I know it more like : Cool because you play CSS, geek/nerd because you use Linux and can't play it.
