I just got Beryl working on a new X1400. Here are the details: Distro: Gentoo x86 with Xeffects overlay from layman Using x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.34.8 (x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.35.5 worked fine but where incompatible with my suspend2 sources) First emerge xgl from the overlay Then emerge beryl from the overlay too
I used the information on the gentoo-wiki.org and the wiki.xeffects.org I will soon do a writeup on installing Gentoo on a T60 similar to Keith's to document the whole process including the beryl part.
