A few days ago I tried to register of an account for the Inland Revenue Department e-Government services. Surprise Surprise, the website does did not work with Firefox! I worte the the IRD and in fact they confirmed that their web application had issues with Mozilla Firefox. I replied, with a strong letter, showing how upset I was that I would not be able to use their service from home where Microsoft is barred.
The Result? Today (less than 3 days from my first try) the registration form has been fixed and works with Firefox! I am telling you this to publicly give a big slap on the back, congratulating the IRD Computer Section for considering us Linux Users on par with the rest of the tax paying population. Thank You, Well Done, Keep it up IRD geeks :-p! And to tell my fellow Maltese penguins that maybe not all of Govt. is clueless to OSS. Sometimes all you need to do is ask!
