While I'm not too keen on bringing partisan politics into the list, as far as Linux / OSS / Software Patents are concerned, I think that the new MLP leader is good news. When the European Parliament was voting on software patents I had written to all Maltese MEPs to explain our position and he had taken quite an interest. Ultimately the whole PES voted against software patents, but I had the feeling that he would have done that anyway. Here's hoping...
