being a big oracle aficianado, i cannot understand why you replaced oracle with mysql. it's true we are promoting oss, but oracle has a free version as well, and it's an rdbms engine which is different from mysql and as equally (if not more) important as it, for a student to play with. remember, rather than 'alternatives' we should look at 'equivalents'.
