Oh god, not this again.This is the anniversary of Linux - the announcement of the kernel project, and has nothing to do with GNU. GNU was announced on September 27th, 1983. So this is unrelated.
Furthermore, note how Linus says he has ported bash and gcc from Minix, which in turn were ported from GNU. So shouldn't this be GNU/ MINIX/Linux?
So, with that reasoning, shouldn't I be using GNU/MINIX/Linux/SuSE/ OpenSuse/11?
I hardly think the over complication of names is going to help promote Linux in any way. Just see the recent article released by the government which talks about the GRIMP.
