I would suggest he re-installs this would take care of the mess he has most probably made of the system. It sometimes happens that an install does not work first time for some reason or other. I would then go with Sebastian's suggestion: System -> Administration -> Hardware Drivers. Having said this the stated graphics card should work out of the box as pointed out by Anton(Il-Mewt).
