Unfortunately, I must agree with Jonathan here. When I accepted the post of chairman at the beginning of the 2013 LUG year, I did so with hesitation as I know things would get very busy for me later on. As it happens, I changed my job this year, which has left me with very little time for anything else. Most days I work from 9am till 9pm… leaving me with a million things to do during the weekend.
Jonathan has been extremely helpful with taking on what should be my responsibilities during my absence. Then again, I question how worthwhile this whole thing is, considering the poor attendance to the meetings (of which I myself am also to blame). In all honesty, if it were up to me, we'd stop having monthly meetings and instead have monthly or bi-monthly beer meet-ups. A nice morning beer in a cosy winter pub or a summer sea-side bar. That's why this Saturday's AGM is important. I want to discuss what members want out of the LUG and see how we can update the LUG to match reality for the coming year.
