My dad gave me a parallel port flatbed scanner but I am having trouble getting it to work; it's recognised, but xsane hangs when I try to scan a page. I figure that a USB version would be faster and easier to set up, but when I look up what is available at the various big-box stores, I am noticing that most are either not listed on the SANE web page, or simply not supported. I'm not too concerned about quality and speed; something inexpensive (~$100) and will work with Linux with little pain. Suggestions?
