Good integration, sync, and you get all the nice things google provides like notifications, RSVP etc.
I understand if you want an internal only solution, but if it will be synced against goog anyways, skip the middleman. Get the clients to cache things locally (google gears perhaps or tbird). The nice thing about this is clients can get to it from anywhere, no need for VPN or remote connections to internal server. Drupal can certainly do it, but you will be spending some time on setting it up. There are tons of php calendar scripts out there, most of which can do RSS or ical feeds, and these can be shared into google with more or less success.
